Stay in Your Lane Sister!

We are all blessed when you don't try to do everything! For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them. Ephesians 2:10 NASBMore is not always better. In fact, more can sometimes be a roadblock to what is best. Ever stood in your closet that is full of clothes unable to make a decision? Ever had a week so full of activity that you were too busy to rest or enjoy relationships with your family? What about these "good works that God prepared beforehand"? This verse reminds me of Psalm 139:14 which tells me that God "knit me together in my mother's womb." I get a picture of God carefully, thoughtfully, and purposefully creating each of us with plans unique to our skill set, unique to our gifts, and unique to our story.Instead of doing every good thing we can cram into our week, what if we took some time to pray and ask God to show us how to walk in the plans he made for us? What would that look like? Its really exciting to know that God has a plan for me this week! He handpicked good works for me to do. He will put me in specific places and arrange circumstances, crossing my path with that of someone who needs that good work. Our God is intimately involved in our lives, desiring for us to join with him in his mighty plans, and why wouldn't we? His plans are to prosper us, not to harm us. His plans give us hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11)
