Can You See God?

Imagine a swimming pool. Instead of water, this pool is filled with dirty laundry, dirty dishes, whining children, your boss lying on a float, sipping a cute umbrella drink while yelling deadlines at you, list upon list, calendar pages...Wait. You're in there too, trying your best to stay afloat. Your body is tired from swimming, treading water life. This is like a bad dream, huh?

Who said that phrase "the trouble with life is that it's so daily"? I don't know, but I agree. At times, my life can seem so monotonous, incredibly routine. Drive the kids, check my email, laundry, make lunches, more laundry, make dinner, drive the kids, go to Kroger, get gas, more laundry...I've come close to losing my mind. The good news is, I think I've figured out the solution. (Without getting arrested or leaving the country)

It's all perspective. God is there is the mundane. His presence can transform my "to do" list into worship. He has placed his Holy Spirit in me and invited me to come to him anytime. Unbelievable! If I allow life to be reduced to daily drudgery, that's my fault. Choosing to look for the hand of God in my life can be a beautiful adventure. Listening for his voice as I live out his calling on my life is the life preserver that can pull me out of the pool.

Most of life is just the daily stuff, the ordinary. Our challenge is to see the things of God that are woven into it all. He is working, breathing, moving, whispering his love into our days. He invites us to come to him, to be still, to search for him, to worship in the midst.

I would love to hear how you have seen God lately in your life. Please comment below to encourage other women.

Let us acknowledge the Lord; let us press on to acknowledge him.  As surely as the sun rises, he will appear; he will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth. Hosea 6:3
